OK here is my delima. I have a class a cdl but haven't been on the road for about 10-11 years due to family issues and now since my kid's are older and "better" I'm starting to get the "itch" again. But their in lies the problem. Back in 1999-2000 while going through a messy divorce I did write out some bad checks, a felony which i spent 90 days in jail, paid restitution, and did community service. Since 2001 I have been on the straight and narrow, no traffic ticket's or any other legal trouble. I have been through counseling, and have turned my life around for the better. So, will anyone hire me? I will even consider those "school mill's" just so i can get a chance. So what are my option's? I live in Wisconsin. Thank you.

Millis Transfer, Roehl and Marten Refrigerated are all in your neck of the woods.
They may well be forgiving of the "Check" conviction....since many of the trucking companies in the country bounced checks at one time or another. Maybe. Maybe not. Start at one of them. Keep your record clean, move on once you have the required "current" experience and better jobs begin opening up.

Most carriers seem to want 10 years since the felony. Some only require 5-7 years. The type of felony can also make a difference. In any case, you are almost there. You may want to check the company listings on this forum. It is at the top of the page. Most of the major carriers are listed along with their hiring requirements, including felony convictions.

With the surplus of experienced drivers that are available now it may be hard to find a quality company with a felony especially for a theft type offense. Carriers actually forgive an assaultive type of conviction before they would anything involving theft, embezzlement, etc.
People brush hot checks off as an accident but you have to realize, before they go to a criminal charge the issuer is given a chance to make them good. Failure to do so is in blunt plain language, stealing. Trucking companies haul products for other people and can not afford to hire a driver that has that type of a record. It would be like hiring a child molester at at child day care center. I have heard this discussed on the Sirius Road Dog Channel numerous times in the past by several executives of companies such as Swift, Prime and Roadway. Good luck but I would look at an career field that doesn't handle other peoples property and money.
