Default Rest stops

Anyone know of an over the counter remedy for reducing rest stop calls so one can drive longer? Thanks

Don't know of any, those rest stops are very important to your body, nothing wrong with stoping every now and then to stretch yor legs.

Some people just need to go more than others. You should be drinking enough water so that you are going at least every 3 hours. Like said it gives you time to stretch your legs and be a human for 15 minutes instead of an extension of a machine. You should give your truck a once over and inspect your load at these times also.

What kind #1 or #2?

I find with #2 fibre is the best. Raisin bran is king! I used to go about 3-4 times a day, now it's once a day.

#1 well... don't drink so much.

#1 Allan5oh,

Yes it would be good for the body to get out and stretch every few hours. I thought most tried to drive as long as possible up to 8-10 hrs straight but maybe I was wrong from the replys here. Thanks

Speaking of rest stops, check out Allan's little website in his signature and go sign the boycott. I knew this was going to come back and haunt our state. Ludicrous that they expect OTR drivers to find other places to park for the night to sleep when other places simply don't exist. Can't park on ramps, can't park on shoulders, now you can't park at rest area's overnight..........

Dunno about others but I can only go 8-10 hours between #1's if I am sweating out anything I drink. Due to the vibrations of my truck going down the road(no air ride suspension to smooth it out) I'm lucky to make it 2 hours between #1's.

Holding in #1's is also very bad for your kidneys. Can lead to kidney stones.

The most I usually drive is 2-3 hours. I definitely won't drive more then 4.

Default Rest Stops

Very important to take a break, get out and walk around. Many veteran truckers become the unwilling victims of deep vein thrombosis in the legs due to not moving. The impact is a blood clot forming and breaking loose in legs and lodging in the heart or lungs. NOT GOOD!. The cure, if the clot doesn't kill, is out of the truck for up to a year and taking Warfarin (otwk as Coumadin) to thin the blood. Take a break, walk around. BOL

Glad to be of help here.

What you do rak is go local! No more worrying about all of that toilet nonsense. The local driver simply drops by the nearest establishment with restroom facilities, or, simply holds it till he/she is back home. Urinating and defecating in public is a habit normally reserved for two types.....1. The common garden variety street hobo. 2. The common garden variety OTR driver hobo.

That was easy huh?

I know it isnt rocket science, but you get 11 hrs to drive in a day, and 14 hours to do it in. What i've been doing, is drive 2 hours, take a 30 min break, then repeat. you drive 10 hrs, and end up taking 2 hours of rest. now you got 2 hours to drive an hour. makes driving a bit easier....and your bladder will like you more. =)
