You're lucky... A glancing blow. Think how much worse it would be with a "head-on", dead center. The radiator would have been wrapped around the fan clutch assemply. And, the hood.... WHAT HOOD?????

In Utah, I80 Eastbound around MM 154
Unfortunately, another truck driver passed me right after I hit the moose.
He's the one that got it in the nose of the truck. Wiped out his radiator. Blood pretty much the entire length of the truck on the passengers side.

Confusion and uncertainty is all I found.
The answers are there,
But I do not know where.
Optimistic and hopeful dreams,
Are all I have so it seems.
The future I do not know,
So all I can do is take it slow.
But I do know it will work out,
So I wait and watch without a doubt.

In the photos there is something down the door of your truck. Did you poop your pants? Or is that from the moose?

I've never hit a moose. Came close to it in Canada, years ago. But more recently, I had a buffalo come charging out onto the hiway in front of me in ND. If that "mark" on the door was his, rather than the moose, it would not surprise me. I had one set of tires in the grass in the median to avoid him. (no drop off right there) Still don't know how I missed him, but sure was glad I did. I think the only real difference between hitting a moose and a buffalo is the height, but certainly not the weight. Elk have a good bit of weight to throw around too. Now, ask him if the adrenaline rush matches what you get on a roller coaster in a carnaval.

It has been reported that the moose in question, known as Mr. Bullwinkle, was cited for not having horns that worked. His codriver, Rocky J. Squirl, was rushed to the hospital after telling emergency personal on the scene "I spit my nuts out during the crash". Phone calls to the home of the other drivers involved in the crash, Boris and Natasha from Frostbite Falls, Minnesota, went unanswered.
