He was ticketed for driving an over-sized vehicle. Why wasn't he ticketed for 'driving while stupid'? Unfamiliarity with an area isnt an excuse to make a mistake when you get all flustered. The story said he had just delivered his load.....ok....so why not retrace your route you took, getting you to the interstate or highway, and then finding a Wal-Mart/rest area/truck stop to park at?

I take wrong turns all the time, and either I turn left-left-left-right and make my u-turn, or i find a nice big parking lot to turn around in. I would NEVER consider trying to alley-dock between a building and utility pole.

if you are at all in question if you have enough room to make a maneuver, then why do it? Cause if you start, then determine 'ooops i did it again'.....then you've backed/turned yourself into a pickle.

The Gov. of NJ revoked that law. He said that the police would be spending all day ticketing everyone on the road.

Sometimes that is not possible.

Why was he ticketed for driving an oversized vehicle? Too wide or heavy for the road he was on? Or was his license only good for a Tonka truck? Hawk, Schneider just called. They are buying Cascadias. All you gotta do to get one is sign on the dotted line of this Lease Purchase contract they sent. Should I forward this too you?

I will admit that it might not be possible to exactly retrace your route....say if the shipper is on a one way road, or on a 4 lane highway with no break in the median to turn up the street from the way you came, but there is always a way to get yourself back to the main route in....just gotta look at a map. Sure is nice to have internet access when being live-unloaded, punch up mapquest, and if you pay attention to the least amount of detail, you know if said road is one way, or no break in the median as stated above. If that is the case, i'd pick the nearest highway to get me back to the nearest interstate, to find the nearest truck stop. I would NOT choose to contine down a narrow 2-lane road i've never been on before, and 'hope' i run into something for a big truck. =)

you've obviously haven't ever been to the martinsburg, wv terminal. have fun while driving along us11 and the streets leading to the terminal. try not to cut the sharpe curve too shallow. it'll cost ya!

that wasn't an option for him kevin. look at the area in question on live maps there are no main roads where he was, just 2 lanes.

he had a helluva brain fart, it's only a mile to 58/57 which would have taken him back to 17.
