Default Nationwide (all 50 states) driving records

I want to check my record for errors (prior to applying for a new job). I already have a DAC report. That doesn't include your driving record for the country though. How do you view/get access to your driving record (tickets, accidents, etc) for the entire country (like if you got an out-of-your-home-state ticket or accident)? I know how to get an IL state copy of my MVR...Or does the IL Secretary of State have all information from all states? Thanks!

I just drove down to the DMV and and payed the fee and they printed out a copy of it. I am also an Illinois resident and it showed a ticket in Pa and an accident in Boston.

You just ask for your regular motor vehicle driving record, correct? Or is there a different one for commercial drivers and incidents/tickets/violations? Thanks much!

You might have to pay a fee to get a copy of your MVR.
It's $30 here in the Empire State.

Yeah...they definitely charge you. I had to get a copy before driving school (less than three years ago). I want to say it was $12 at the time. It might be more now. I just wanted to make sure my IL state MVR will include any CMV violations in any other state (like IN, OH, etc). Thanks!

Thumbs up

I guess....No news is good news! I just got the report today. It costed $12. It has two pages...one says "Court Purposes"...the other says "Supervision". The only thing it says it "LIC ISSUE" and the date it was issued. Besides that, it just says "END OF RECORD" on both pages.

It has been a few years since I pulled my MVR but last time I did I told them it was for a job and got 1 free copy. I too live in IL.

Really? I told them that, too. They said "TWELVE BUCKS"! They charged me $12 in 2006, too. I needed a copy for truck driver training. It should be free! It's MY DMV. It's not like it costs them anything. They print out a piece of paper. What does that cost? $.02 for the paper and $.02 for ink? I think it used to be free but IL has gotten very greedy. They charge and tax hike everything to the sky instead of eliminating governmental excesses and wasteful spending...while they fill government positions with convicts. It's way out of hand. Pretty soon I am going to take my $12 to another state.

Wow that sucks. The last one I got was a year or so ago and was only $5 in TN.

Yeah I hear you. Like I said it was several years ago so things may have changed. I know it went up.

The last one I got was in 02 or 03 and it was $5 for any reason other than work and then it was free.

Don't matter if the gooberment raises taxes or not. They still find ways to take more of our money. No new taxes, just raise the fees for everything.
