Seems one in the same to me, crap company with crap leasing plan.
Mike was speaking of Swift and not you personally. Let me recap this thread for you, Kevin. You started out asking about a lease plan with speculative scenarios in which experienced company drivers AND O/O's commented. Through the first few pages, comments were made about the company and its not-so-great lease plans and perhaps a more lucrative venture was to purchase/lease elsewhere. After facts were presented, the Swift lease became much less desirable even by yourself and not so favorable remarks about Swift were presented by you. I think this whole thread was very informative. Anyone interested in leasing like this should read it and have the facts. Too bad you felt you were being personally attacked, which you weren't until you started name calling. When you start being all "funky" you are going to be called on it. Much cooler to have a good discussion!

posts before i really went on my 'rant'. after while, i just get sick of hearing it. is it possible to just make your post without being an *****? sure, so why do it?? you do it just to p!ss people off or make digs at them....and for what? just to get your rocks off? one post said 'its hard to teach a new dog old tricks', and 'it gets old teaching newbies...'. well guess what, how else are they going to learn? you want new drivers to live in a 'bubble' for a year, and those who dont wreck themselves out of their job, THEN you want to help them along?? if you're a driver, and you're reading this, you started NEW at some point in your career. If you dont want to help another driver with questions they might have (even though they might ask the same question over and over) then just move along, and dont waste the time posting something just to stir the kettle. thank you to those who actually helped provide good information

Well calling swift a crappy company isn't an opinion at all, it is a well recognized fact! And as a former driver for them I have every right to say that. They are a mega-carrier, their drivers are just #'s that can hold a steering wheel and don't mind hauling cheap freight, and they are not afraid to drop you like a sack of potatoes if they so choose. Swift is an OK starting point for someone who really wants to get their CDL and some experience, but no other method of doing so It is how I got mine. But it is not the sort of company you stick around with for years, sorry but it is the truth. Since last year they have literally let go of thousands and thousands of drivers. They don't have enough freight to keep everyone moving well right now. To even consider a company lease plan right now with the economy the way it is is completely absurd to begin with, and believe me swift don't mind or care to let you do it. At first they will give you all sorts of miles, so that you can give them a good chunk of change, but as that lease plan comes to term, the miles will drop. I know because I have talked to many a swift leasers. You will be stuck oweing $1500 a week and won't be able to afford it.
You complain saying that everyone is saying you don't like the answer, but it's the truth! If you are going to ask your more experienced peers a question, then shut up and recieve the answer without skeptisim and and a feeling of personal attack, because it's not, everyone is telling you the truth straight up. Everyone is getting abrasive with you because at everything anyone says no matter what it is you get your panties in a bunch. WHY ask the questions if you are going to get all defensive with the answers?!

But I do know it will work out, So I wait and watch without a doubt.

I could lead you to a company that I am sure that you could complete a L/P through and make a fair amount of money with, but I wouldn't want you involved with this company. I don't think your attitude would be an asset to the company or your well being, but hey that's just my opinion from your responses. I know you don't care what I think, you have said as much, but do you think only drivers read this site?

LOL...."suck owing $1500 a week"....once again you pull figures out of your anus, and then exagerate them. and when are you going to accept that i'm open to all sorts of opinions.....it is how they get presented that i've got the beef with. Want to tell me "the lease sucks"...fine....say it. DO NOT say "swift sucks as a company, they just employ steering wheel holders, i can tell you so because i use to work for them, blah blah blah, their trucks suck....blah blah blah," whatever else has been said in a condecending fashion. You dont know me. You do not know how i drive, etc. i'm not going to beat my chest and say 'im the best driver on the road' cause that would just be false. But i'm not some f-kin bum 'hobby trucker'. again, it isnt the answer i get pissed at.....it is the *****' way they give it to me. when are you going to understand that??

Isn't it rediculous to ask about a company L/P plan and then ask to leave out comments on the company?
I could lead you to a company that I am sure that you could complete a L/P through and make a fair amount of money with, but I wouldn't want you involved with this company. Do i think airline pilots read this site? waitresses at IHOP? no. |
