I am interested in the JB Hunt independent contractor program but have noticed a lot of negative feedback. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Has anyone been successful doing this over a long period of time?

Right now, is the wrong time to be jumping into a lease. Heck...right now is the wrong time to be buying a truck! IF you are serious about doing the "Owner Operator" experience...go find yourself a loan, then go BUY a decent used truck...and lease into a decent Trucking Company.

If you wanted to reduce the number of jackasses you had to deal with then you came to the wrong place. We do give out some good advise (such as not falling for ANY companies lease but never own purchases) but we LOVE to be jackasses at the same time. And it looks like Belpre was the first to rattle your cage. Thanks for playing.

The answer is no. In fact, their isn't a company that offers a lease program that benefits the driver. If you want to be a owner/operator, get your own rig, and start from there. Good luck.
