Just talked to one of the supervisors from DOT here in Oregon. He said they're very low on de-icer due to some sort of strike at a de-icer factory in Canada. Apparently that's where they get the de-icer from. Oh, and if that "super-trucker" would've put his chains on maybe he'd still have a job right now. He's the guy blowing past everyone in the hammer lane because "he drives on the ice and snow all the time".

Slow down on the slick stuff, keep your job and keep your life.

I can monitor Meacham all day long it's a nasty hill in fair weather, the turn at the top has wiped out many drivers in non snow events.

With the interaxle diff locked, when he broke traction he'd break at least four wheels free, as opposed to only two if the diff was "open".

For the viewing audience at home...... Cabbage is easy to come down in all weather except nasty snow and ice, there are no " scary " turns..... There is even a big yellow chart with the a recomended speed for your gross weight before you go down....
Just pay attention, select the proper gear, use your jakes (not in ice/snow) and relax......

Also Meacham is only 1 mile 6% downgrade WB.........:roll:
