6 months!!??!?!
i thought my school was long. your gonna have to do your own legwork on this one. there are tons of companies out there that hire new drivers. just about anyone will do for your first year or two. id look into Crete or CFI.when i did my research on what companies to start for, it seemed like those two had the least amount of complaints. they're all gonna be bad. you will do alot of free work, waiting and spending WEEKS on the road. you will be boarded to death of orientaition and paperwork and will most likely be frustrated with your trainer. better watch your step too. it seems like some guys are getting dropped for a little mistake during training or when they first start out. look into some of the line haul carriers like UPS fREIGHT, saia, estes, ABF etc etc. get your hazmat and doubles endorsement. many of these carriers will hire out of school. i know ABF will depending on the needs of the area

It would kinda depend on what you want as a company, what you want to haul, where you want to go, etc. If you want to work for a local company that allows you to be home every day, you can also look in your local paper, and see what you can find.
Do you want to be home more often? You want to check into companies' hometime deals. A lot of companies allow you to go home on the weekends, etc, depending on where you live. Would you want to pull a flatbed? There are some good flatbed companies, that train you, and also offer good runs, etc. You also want to look into how much companies pay, and how long their runs are, and where they run. There are a lot of reefer companies, but there are also a lot of "not-so-good" reefer companies, if you wish to pull a reefer. One of the things you can do, search the companies on CAD and get information from the companies. Find out what they haul, where they haul, when you can get home (if that is something that interests you), and how much they pay. The drivers here can give you information on the companies that they drive for. You can also find information in many posts here. By the way, I would not advise you to drive for CR England. I dont know too much about the company itself. I've never driven for them, but all I've heard is bad news. Just my opinion. Best of luck!

Look around and see what OTR trucks are parked around here on the weekends.
