it SHOULD be more in depth but the reality is it's not. if you can walk, talk, hear. see and your bp is ok you pass. the bp is the biggest thing that gets people

drug testing is not part of a dot physical but the COMPANY may have it done at the same time.

Yes from what i understand the urine sample for the medical card is for diabetes. Then most carrier's once hired then give you a urine drug screen test.

I don't see why it would need to be more in-depth ,as it's aready overkill and useless...the vision part and hearing yeah ok ,but the rest of it ...please give me a break ,and there certainly is'nt more needed .

I agree as far as im concerned it all BS i see plenty of obese drivers out there and wonder how did they pass??? Kind of funny. And for the drug part meth leaves the system within 3 days and cocaine isnt much longer but thc 30 days or more crazy shit.I was wondering becasue i need to get mine renewed and the place i usually go now tells me they no longer have the cards just a 3x7 sheet of paper?? I remember it being a card but i could have my early signs of alszheimers acting uo hahahaha who knows they always change laws how can we ever keep up??

It's basically just like any other physical. They check your pulse, blood pressure, etc. They check your ears, make ya turn your head, and cough.

Default DOT Physical

The urine check of a DOT physical checks two items, high blood sugar being an indicator of diabetes and I think high protein being an indicator of kidney funtion. Treated paper strips dipped in the sample gives the indications. I'm surprised at potential drivers who have too many adult beverages the night before a physical and there're still alcohol metabolites in their blood. BOL
