You both said that US customs doesn't stamp, or usually doesn't stamp your paperwork. Is it that they are required to stamp it but just don't do it? Or is it something that is just left to their discretion? If customs hands you back your paperwork unstamped and you hand it back and request that they stamp it would they do it, or would they give you a hard time for asking?
I have no idea what the policy is on some officers stamping paperwork.

And i would not ask, some of them are pretty grumpy, and as soon as they say your all set, get the he!! out of there and don't say anything else except maybe thanks.

some officers won't even talk, its weird, i had one US customs guy, i pull up hand him paperwork, and the all he says is, go! stay to the right bypass X`ray LOL not a single question or anything.
