Well I'm not a regional driver... I'm local...home every night plus weekends. I work at the Sparta TN. warehouse for BASF. My runs are 16 miles round-trip 5 or 6 times a day in a POS '98 Mack daycab pulling a 53" dry van weighing 52K lbs.. I work from 9 to 6 M-F.

That being said, your right... I do need to find something else. Being home daily is nice but I'm bored and tired of being broke.

 $434,000 a year? GA! I better start working more and slacking less! I've had ....18 weeks off so far this year!!!! Plus took a 3 week vacation!! And.......several resets while I wuwuz working..and...and..and!

I've only grossed $118K & change..netted $67K & change. June 27 to Aug 8 was the busiest I have been since ...4ever! Made damn good money....but wore myself out running.

LOL....but it was funny seeing the look on that Chicka teller when she saw that deposit list for my account!! :P

My gross would be better if my Deadhead was lower....right now I'm at 42.3%.

My gross would be better if my down time was shorter....shops here do not get in a hurry to get your truck fixed. One repair took 3 weeks by it's self. I wouldn't mind finding a shop out in the system to do the work...but what happens if they take a while to do it? Then I pay for motels. I'm at 2 weeks for the work I'm having down now.

Ooooooh....I don't drive local....in that June 27 through Aug8 run time, I was on the east coast 4 times, in Canada twice, down to Lardeo once, and did 5 Gulf Coast deliveries as well as 6 mid-continent deliveries.

i missed out on one run that pays the truck$16K and another that pays the truck 21K...but who in their right mind wants to go into the furthest reaches of Saskatchewan???? Even in summer?

One of those weeks I mentioned there...I delivered 4 loads, from friday of one week, until sunday of the next...all four loads went on one setlement...just a bit over $12K...never again...I was butt tired when I delivered the last one.

One week, I had a load that took 18 hours 30 minutes to unload...that kicked my butt too! Didn't have to do anything but watch......but couldn't lay down and sleep either.
