it all depends if the companies insurance company views you as a high risk driver.
did your rates increase after that ticket?

does it show on your driver abstract or CVOR abstract?? just go to the MTO office and ask for these 17 bucks for both i think

yeah it did go up, less then a hundred bucks a year on my vehical. I wasent sure if it was a big deal or not, since it wasent a moving violation, or anything that had to do with my driving skills. Just a stupid mistake by being poor and cant afford insurance when i was younger and stupid. I regret it very much

No, driving without insurance is insane. Or at least negligent and stupid.
Kwantz, why don't you just keep your butt up there above the border so when you kill a family and do not even have the means to make financial amends it is at least not going to be any one down here.

Ask my stepson. He was caught driving without insurance - 2nd offense. He spent 6 months in jail for it.

yeah it was definatly a dumb mistake that I made in the past. 3K later, trust me I learned my lesson. Pretty much did it all to see a girl/impress her haha now im married to her.

But will that fine effect my truck driving career search?
technically its not a moving violation or being under any type of influence, never been in a accident etc.

$3000 Canadian..... that's like Monopoly money ain't it?

Just kiddin, Kwantz. That IS a hefty fine, but states look dimly on those who drive without the means to cover the costs of liability in case of an accident of major proportions.

Like you say, NOT a moving violation. I suspect it WILL show up on your MVR (as we call it down here.) But, I doubt it will be held against you in looking for a Truck driving job.

Just be up front about it, and the reasons, when applying for a job. But, don't LIST it on an application that asks for moving violations.

If THAT is your only black mark, I think you'll be fine.

But, as many of the more wiser here have said, it would be a simple thing to call a carrier and ASK them! Pick one you DON'T want to work for, and ask them everything you want to know! Then use that info to apply to those you DO want to work for!
