I'm currently in the field of education. However, due to the NON teacher shortage in western new york, I'm considering driving . I have a Class B w/ Tanker and drove an oil delivery truck for 12 years in my previous career, although it's been over 5 years. Anyone have input on National Tractor Trailer Ins. in Buffalo? Price is steep, but according to the contact, many companies are only hiring through select accredited schools since the economy took a plunge. Also, anyone know what the job prospects are like in my area? I'm afraid to take the pluge and not get a job. I'm 48 with a clean record. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

1. Think back to why you left a 12-year trucking career. Be brutally honest. Why did you leave? (Primary reason, Secondary reason, etc.) 2. Why are you thinking of leaving the education field? (Primary reason, Secondary reason, etc.) Write your answers down (either here or on a sheet of paper). Keep us posted on your progress.

It's not exactly in Buffalo, but I went to school through the Wayne Finger Lakes BOCES. The trucking school was in Canandaigua. I got a grant that paid for it all. You may try looking into the BOCES programs near you. They have lots of programs to train adults. You may also want to consider moving to California. There is a real shortage of teachers here. They have non-accredited teachers in the classrooms because there aren't enough accredited ones to go around.
