Default Motor carriers road atlas

Do you have to have a "Motor carriers road atlas" and a "national truck stop directory" that is the latest edition or can it be a few years old? Do things change that much year to year?

I get a new atlas every year just because I'm hard on them and I always like to have the newest and latest stuff  You can buy them at the end of the year for cheap. I have the 2008 Truck stop directory and I get a new one every couple years because new truck stops are always popping up. The TS directory has been a lifesaver for me and I use it to plan my day. Ony downfall is that the pages tend to rip...

When I was on the road I bought a new MCA every other year, and a new Truck stop guide every 3 years unless my current one got trashed first.

IMHO spring for a spiral bound laminated MCA. Well worth the extra money. You have to work at tearing them up, they fold flat and you can use dry erase markers on them if need be.

If you are hard up for money though do not think you have to run out and get a new one ASAP. You could get by with one even 10 y/o if you absolutely had to for a few weeks.

I like the oversized one because it's quicker to find stuff while rolling along.
