Is there opportunities to drive just for the summer?

You could try hitting up some of the smaller asphalt paving companies. Like the ones who do nothing but driveways. They seem to be always looking for a seasonal driver.

When I first started out I was living way up north in MI and could only find 2 companies that would even consider me, one hauled recycled stuff only in the summer months, the other was a carnival, I went with the carnival, it was an interesting 2 months, I got a little experience I could list on my resume and I had fun. also those trucks are some of the most challenging to drive, a good experience over all.
