Default Tell me what you think....

I got an offer a couple days ago for a job that pays $900/week for a linehaul gig, which they claim is "3 days of work" and 4 days off "unless something unusual would happen", which I now know is false, after I came home and figured out the mileage, places, etc.
Here's the runs

DAY 1: Clinton (PGH), PA -to- Philly, PA, then back. Ok, do-able.
DAY 2: Clinton (PGH), PA -to- Newark, NJ, then back. Dont seem do-able in one day legal.
DAY 3: Clinton (PGH), PA -to- Jamaica, NY, then back. Again, not do-able

So I basically already figured out that what they said is full of shit, but was wondering what the majority of you thought in regards to how long of a week that would really turn into. I'm personally thinking it basically comes out to be a 5 days/out, 2 home. Does that sound bout right?
Oh, and this is swapping trailers at the airports in those cities...Not that it matter too much I guess.

Thanks in advance.

All told you are looking at about 2100-2200 miles for the week. If it was out and back, out and back, out and back with little or no layover time at any stop you could do it in maybe 3 1/2 days (though 4 is more probable) and that is only stopping for fuel and your 10 hour breaks. Any faster that and you are going to be breaking some laws.

You are right though. The NJ and NY runs are not doable in a single 11/14 hour shift, and even the Philly run could be problematic if you were loaded heavy and/or under powered.

sounds pretty easy to me but what is the milage? I think it would bother me if they did lie about the time, can the 3 runs be done in 4 days? If so that might turn into a pretty good gig.

Yeah, I had a guy offer me a job a while ago running containers down to Newark & back. I was figuring about four trips a week (in five days), and he was saying $1000/wk. Well, it eventually came out that he was figuring that at one trip a day, and that he thought (supposedly had been told) that you could make the Newark piers from here in five hours. Also, that there were no benefits to speak of.

Needless to say, I didn't take it. I'd recommend the same to you - they're feeding you a line already, seemingly expecting you to run illegal. I'd say that's a bad sign of what might be to come later.

That is do-able. Considering that "they" run across the pike at 80mph and are very creative with the log books
