Default Dispacher math

OK here is the excercise for all you log book geniuses.
It is Thursday at 1700 and you have all your driving hours available and have worked 2 hours. You have to go 631 miles to a receiver that is open from 0700 to 1700. It takes 1.5 hours to unload at this receiver.
After delivering you need to drive 131 miles to a shipper who closes at 1700 on Friday and does not open up again until Monday. It takes 3-4 hours to load at this shipper.
After loading you may go home for the weekend. Home is 647 miles away.
You deliver Monday before noon 170 miles from the house.
Your truck is limited to 65 mph.
You must cross the Appalachians each way.
You do all your load checks and pre/post trip inspections legally.
You make 2 fuel stops.

Question 1: What time do you get home
Question 2: Do you get home
Question 3: Did you get a 34 hour restart
Question 4: What time on Monday did you turn in your truck and tell your dispatcher to go crotch diving.

You simply skip going home...
See how simple that is?

Question 1: What time do you get home
9:30 PM Monday evening
Question 2: Do you get home
Yes.
Question 3: Did you get a 34 hour restart
Yes.
Question 4: What time on Monday did you turn in your truck and tell your dispatcher to go crotch diving.
You won't be telling him that until some time on Tuesday afternoon.

Here's the math:

5:00 pm - 5:15 pm Thursday: 15 minute pre trip
5:15 PM - 3:30 AM = 10.75 hours driving plus one 15 minute fuel stop along the way.
3:30 am - 7:00 am = Off Duty, 14 hour clock still going.
7:00 am - 8:30 am = unload
8:30 AM - 6:30 PM = Sleeper Berth
6:30 PM - 6:45 PM = Pre Trip
6:45 PM - 9:00 PM = deadhead
9:00 pm - 9:15 PM = Post Trip.
9:15 pm Friday until ?????? Monday (you didn't specify when on Monday they opened) = 34 hour reset.
Monday (Let's call it 7:00 AM) - 10 AM = loading
10:00 - 10:15 = Pre Trip
10:15 - 9:30 PM = Drive to house with one 15 minute fuel stop
9:30 PM - 9:45 PM = Post trip
9:45 PM - 7:45 AM Tuesday = 10 hours off duty
7:45 AM - 8:00 AM = 15 minute pre trip
8:00 AM - 11:00 AM = Drive to consignee
11:00 AM - ?????? = Unload
??????? - ???????? = Drive to dispatcher, perform 15 minute post trip inspection, then tell them to shove their truck.

looks good on paper but you didn't give one key piece of info...what was the weight? Crossing the mountains are you dragging at 25 mph since the company you are with don't give you enough HP under the hood to climb the hills?

OK, this was really a trick question.the answers are:
1. before noon on Saturday
2. hell yes
3. maybe even a 72 if I don't feel like getting up Monday
4. depends on when I can start orientation at my next job

Kinda sounds frustrating to be under a forced dispatch situation. All this should of been figured out before you took the load. No dispatcher is going to make me run illegal just because they didn't figure out that a solo driver can't make deadlines that were meant for a team. And my final answer to all your questions is- YOU have to figure out what YOU can do legally, not the dispatcher.

This was my final straw. I was at the terminal (100 miles from the house) waiting on my unit to be serviced and told my dispatcher I wanted to go home early for the week, and even suggested where I could pick up a load on the way to the house for Monday delivery.
And yes it was all figured out before I took the load, by the dispatcher who knew I couldn't make it home legally and didn't give a crap because it is forced dispatch and I would have been fired on the spot for refusing.
