Default Logging daylight savings time

What is the best way to log the one hour gap for day light savings time. Do you leave it blank between 2:00am and 3:00am with a note for day light savings.

You just log the day normally, if you were driving at 2am...do not change DST hours until you have ended the 14 hour day.

thats the way we do it after all their is no 0201-0259 today and remember that your total hours for the day is 23

Then what do you do in the fall? Draw two lines in one box? The best way is just to log your driving time as you run it, then account for the time change during off-duty time. If that means that you don't make the switch until after 2am, nobody is worried about it.

That is the best way to do it and also be sure to make a note in the remarks section about the time change. Just be sure to actually take 10 real hours for your break.

the fall and spring time changes are the only good excuses for
FUDGING a hour;


During the Winter-Spring ( losing a hour ) you should be in your sleeper/ off duty-- that way you can get by with just a 9 hour break instead of 10.

In the Summer-Fall (gaining an hour) you should work your schedule so you're driving across the midnite mark-- that way you get to drive 12 hours.

This is of course if you're interest in MAKING MONEY.

You could do it the opposite- and get more REST.

that's so confusing. i'm glad i am based out of arizona. no need to worry about turning the clocks back or up an hour. 8)

I just sleep thru it. Shipper had to remind me that it had even happened when I bitched I couldn't get hold of reciever.

i didnt know how to handle it either. i got on the CB and another driver told me that i would loose and hour this time. since i was only driving that day and didnt need any "on duty time, i pulled over at 1:45 waited til 2:00 logged it as on duty not drining and pulled out again.
i guess i could have done it like some of the other prevous posters said. just make the time change later when its convenient.
but since i didnt know any better and didnt want to lose an hour driving, i did what i thought would work best woth the info i had.
this is an idustry full of comprimises and "faking it" i have discovered

Do you think people working on a assembly line shuts the line down while they wait for the that hour? Or how about the hospital worker?

There is nothing cast in concrete about when you gain/lose the change for day light savings time.

Now the real question is -- How to get congress to end this nonsense.
