Default My odds.....

What is my chances of a company letting me use a terminal address for my drivers liscense? The reasion I ask is I can not have a cdl in michigan till sept. of 2009 cause my liscense was suspended for 30 days in sept 2006. michigan has a law that if you had a suspension on your liscsnes that you have to wait 3 yrs before you can get a cdl. and as you ahve guessed... I live in Michigan.

I was going to have the state pay for my cdl training until I found this out yeasterday...

I'd say your chances are slim and none and I'm pretty sure I just saw slim walking out the door. I can't imagine any company would let you use their address for your personal residence. With the suspension, I wonder if it would even matter. I don't know if any other state would allow you to get a CDL with that on your record in MI.

Personally, I would either contact an attorney to see what could be done about having MI wipe the slate clean or I would just wait out the next year and a half.

another problem, even if you did manage to get your cdl, no one will hire you with a recent suspension

If it is suspended in Michigan, it is suspended in the other 49 states too. The ability to get multiple licenses in multiple states has ended and is now against the law.

Every state is hooked up to the same CDL database. If you are in it in one state, all the states can see it. I know here in Georgia, I had to answer the "I do not hold a license in another state" question at least four times in writing before I could take the driving test.
