HO wolding is a cut-rate irregular-route truckload carrier. The term "linehaul" implies dedicated terminal-to-terminal drop/hook. Mostly associated with the LTL outfits although foodservice, small parcel (UPS & FedEX) and others run linehaul operations as well.
Werner has a program called NETOPS which involves shuttling trailers between drop yards, terminals, and customers for 10 bucks an hour. So it's "line-haul" in a sense, but at those wages I'd sure as hell "haul"-a$$ away from a deal like that. How Werner manages to get meat in those seats for what they pay is a mystery to me. But low wages, long hours, unpaid waitng around, and piece-rate mileage pay = "that's trucking", "part of the job", "without trucks America stops", etc, etc, etc...
