Yep, I could care less if I get delayed: traffic, breakdowns, grocery warehouses, weather, etc...it's all the same to me. That's why I'm paid hourly and won't touch the mileage/percentage scams with a 10 no make that a 50-foot pole. Been there, done that. No thanks!!!
I dunno Dude.. I work by percentage. 2 weeks ago I delivered in Brideport CT. Spent 21 hours getting unloaded, got $810.25 in demurrage pay in the settlement..total for the load was $5875.95. That was $2,385 Linehaul, $1895.95 FSC, $385.75 re-position pay, $399.00 delay of dispatch pay, plus the afore mentioned $810.25 demurrage. After deductions for fuel, insurance, plates and taxes, by net settlement check tomorrow is $3202.89. Not to bad for 4 days and 1700 miles. The load home paid me $1,800 + FSC on 878 miles. Total time spent on the round was 9 days, 3 of them sitting in a motel room.

I'm just sayin.

Puyallup & Tacoma are 2 different worlds!

I rember going to revover an MT trailer out in Tacoma ,and was going slowly down a city street , And some punk about 20 yrs old picked up a road cone ,and tossed it at me ,And I had my window open , So it smacked me in the side of my head...the road was empty ,So I set the breaks ,Which alerted him to start running ,And I came out of the cab never touching the steps ,and managed to almost close the gap on the lead he had on me when he ducked off between some houses, And then into an alley way , And I decided to stop chasing him , As I did not know if he was really by himself ...Had I caught him he never would have ever thought to do that again to anyone , As I would have left a lasting impression him with a swift severe beating . It takes alot to get me pissed off , But there is just something about having a road cone tossed at me ,and smacking me in the face through my open window while driving that accomplishes this ...

Your lucky you didn't get shot !! Back in the mid 80's, it wasn't anything to hear about random shotings in Tacoma. Heck..even some Rangers from Fort Lewis got into a full blowen shoot out with druggies in 1988 in the "Hilltop" section of Tacoma...a very rough neighborhood.
