that would depend on the contract you sign when hired...I know werner took money out my checks until they reached $400.00 as a performance bond ...I guess this is held for possible damages to the truck when you quit or are terminted should the equipment be returned ...or not returned....in favorable condition...Which reminds me I need to check into that $400.00 as my truck was turned back into their yard in pristine condition clean enough to just issue and move right into , So I think I might be entitled to that $400.00 in return .

I didn't sign any contract. Just the usual hire packet crap and a thing saying I'd pay $250 for orientation if I bailed within 90 days. They snag $ from me for that accident and theyll have a lawsuit on their hands.

I know at werner there was a bit of reading involved in the paperwork I was singing ...of course most don't read it they just sign their name . I never worked for Covenant , But I'd immagine the paperwork involved in orientation is along the same lines as Werners ...maybe not...But if it is then I'm sure there are sectionas pertaining to such things as truck damage...Abandonment Fees , and so on ...You just may not have wanted to sit for 5-6 hours reading every line of those papers you were signing ...However I doubt you will see any money taken out of your pay check or any bills sent to you for the radiator or tow bill , And the incident will be left simply as a mark on your dac for hitting a fixed object in a parking lot .
