Default Flatbed Companies

Hello,

I am in the process of selecting my first trucking employer. I am desperate to drive flatbed.
Is expecting to start out green on flatbed unreasonable. I am aware that flatbed is more work than van. I am afraid of the boredom driving van.
I have been looking at various flatbed carriers and carriers with a flatbed or specialized division. But most of them are east of the Mississippi and do not want to hire out of Montana.
Any suggestions? I thank you in advance.

Watkins & Shepard in Missoula will hire new drivers (trainees/grads) but requires 3 months van prior to flatbedding, Sytem Transport hires noobs, TMC has a terminal in Post Falls/CDA Idaho, Davis in Missoula just went 100% O/O so they're out.
All of those companies hire in MT and can get you home fairly regular.

Thanks Rotts,

I actually am scheduled for orientation with Watkins & Shepard in two weeks. And I am scheduled with Swift in one week, which I am cancelling.

So 3 months van is not bad, prior to flatbed. I might give TMC another look. They been getting a bad rap on their safety stats. But I hear they are improving.

But all in all, WKSH looks pretty good and they are close to home.
