hello all, my first post here on the forum. i've been a lurker for over a year, finally decided to register and speak up!
like quite a few on here i've always said since i was a kid that i was gonna be a truck driver someday. without going into a long story i have the opportunity at this point in my life to do it.
so without making the big commitment i came up with a plan to see if this would be a good career move for me and thought i'd suggest it to others who may find it helpful.
get a job at a truckstop.
i've been working for idle aire for about a month now and let me tell you it has been and will be a valuable experience if i decide to take the plunge into driving. i've learned a lot about the trucking lifestyle and i'm also learning a lot about some of the different companies.
i just thought i'd throw this out there for others to consider. i guarantee you if i decide to go into trucking this will have been one of the best jobs i've ever had to get myself prepared for the industry.
