Didn't mean to sound like a smart-ass, just meant that after a couple days you will talk to each other so much, about everything under the sun, that you won't be strangers after the first week, that's all.
As far as things to take, your clothes, enuf for a couple weeks, you can do laundry on the road. Take bedding, a bag big enuf for a change of clothes, your soap and shave stuff, to take in when you shower. A rain suit or jacket if your going flatbed, gloves, boots, a pair of comfy shoes, shower shoes, fall is here, might need a decent coat. You should get writing stuff at orientation, a log book or two, some cash for the expected and the un-expected. Don't forget your cell phone and a book with the numbers in it that you can never remember! I used earplugs the time I went out, he snored!! And most important, take a sense of humor!! 8) You'll need it! Good luck!
