5 mph over, warning ticket
Just curious, this is probably a dumb question. I recently received a warning for 5 mph over speed. I also got a level 3 inspection to go along with it. Trooper was very nice, everything checked out and I was on my way. My question is, do I have to list this as a violation on the yearly form? Or upon hiring on at another company? It wasn't a verbal warning, I actually got a printed peice of paper that stated the moving violation and that it wasn't a citation.
Are citations the only things that need to be reported?
I don't suppose this will be listed on my MVR, but I wasn't sure.

I would tell them about it and ask if you need to put it down, just to be sure, a lot of people get sent home because the company thinks they lied

No you do not have to report warnings, written or otherwise.
Better be sure to tell your company about your inspection and turn in any paperwork given to you though.

Yeah I turned in the level 3 inspection portion, which lists that I had a speed violation right on it. Company doesn't care. I just didn't know if I had to list it or anything since most applications and what have you say "Moving violations in the last x years". It was technically a moving violation, but one I did not receive a citation for.
Thanks for confirming what I already thought though. Appreciate it.

Do not report it. It's never reported on your MVR. At worst it goes into a highway patrol database for a certain amount of days and if you get caught again they will see it and then you won't get another warning. You'll get a ticket. So consider that a gift.

5mph over is quite anal I would say on the LEO's part. Either he was just a hard ass or he doesn't like trucks .
Driving a 4 wheeler I always do about 5mph over the posted limited, unless traffic as a whole is flowing a bit faster, I will stay with it. (In a truck though is a different story, but still, 5mph is anal).

The 5 mile an hour warning is just his reason to do a level 3 inspection.

That is very true!! A good rule of thumb, if you don't give them reason to pull you over then you'll spend a lot less time being inspected and so forth.
