Default CR England Questions

I am starting with CR England in their training program on Monday. I have a couple of questions I was hoping someone can help me with.

1.) The trucks they assign to company drivers once you are through the CAT stage what year and model are they usually?

2.) Do the trucks normally have refrigerators?

3.) Do the trucks have a CB in them already or is the driver required to purchase one?

Thanks for the help...

Default CRE

May be a little late to be asking about CRE, you'll probably regret your choice. But here goes:

Year and model are they usually Freightliners, model doesn't make a difference, with a few hundred thousand miles on 'em.

Trucks normally have refrigerators? No.

Trucks have a CB in them or is the driver required to purchase. No and yes, and while you're at it get a good antenna, the installed are sometimes not so good. BOL

Thanks for the information.

I have spent weeks reading forums and I know all the warnings about CR England. I know several drivers that drive for them and say it is as good as you make it.

The other thing is I have never heard a good thing about their leasing program so I will not touch it with a 10ft poll. I figure either I will get in a like it or I will stay is for 3-6 months and move on to another company with a better reputation.

I do not have a CDL and I live close to their Salt Lake facility so this makes them a decent choice for me to get some experience under my belt. I do not have to put up with thier lodging or transportations since I am local.

Any suggestions on Frige or Cooler?

Thanks again,

Guess you never want to be home either. CR will make sure of that. Since you live in Utah, they'll route you home via North Carolina.

He will have to be like everyone else that will not listen to us and just have to learn for himself!!! You will see that CRE is a company that s not even worth the bottom of the barrel!!!! Better hope that when you do decide to leave......and you soon will ..... that they don't slam your DAC!!!

That brings up another great question. What are the best ways to make sure that when you leave a company that they do not give you negative marks on the DAC?

First off, don't go to CRE!!! The next is don't leave the company. Third, if they are a decent company, just keep your nose clean and give proper notice before you leave and you should be fine. BUT, I can not stress enough to NOT go to CRE!!!!!

Even if you dont want the "fleece" purchase program they will keep you running and running and get you home maybe every 60 days. They wont let you idle when its cold, they wont let you idle when its hot and although when you do sign up for the fleece purchase program they'll reprogram the truck to idle for heat/air but you'll miles will drop and at the end of the month, you'll be paid.........NOTHING.

Well as I said I need the experience so if I have to sacrifice for 3-6 months to do the career I have always wanted then so be it.

I am not taking the advice for granted and it is not that I am ignoring you guys. I just need to get to work NOW! and I have no money to pay for school.

If I want to wait 2-3 Months to get to work I have some other choices but why wait when I could already have 2 Months of experience instead of sitting at home not making money and letting the mortgage get further and furhter behind.

You know what I mean?
