Default Leaving the road

After 15 months of driving, I've decided to get off the road and do some local work. I've got to say that the hardest part about finding local work is having a lack of endorsements. Since I don't have any endorsements I had to change the line of work I was in. I'm going to drive a wrecker in the Nashville area. I want to think everyone for all the advice I had recieved in the past and wish all of you safe travels over the highways and byways in this beautiful country I've seen. I hope to never have to respond to an accident and it be one of the great drivers on this board that offer their experience on this site. Best of luck.
Thomas

You don't have to have haz-mat, tanker, doubles/triples to drive a big rig. All you have to have is a class A cdl.

Gotcha
Well go to the DMV and take the test to get a hazmat endorsement

I'm not really concerned with it right now. They are starting me out driving one of the smaller Wreckers that picks up cars and as other trucks become available move me up. Perhaps when I renew my license next year I will, but I don't see the benefit of right now paying the extra money and then doing it again next year. The pay isn't bad and he said if you can tow 10 cars in a day which is doable it's 250 a day. Now that's doable, but I'm more realistic starting out and think I would do good doing 7 a day(175 a day) plus 2 on calls (45 a piece) It works out to 965 a week, which is more than I get now on my dedicated runs. The hours working is still the same as driving over the road, but I get to go home every day to see my 3yr old 2 yr old and wife who stood by me while I ventured over the road. I owe it to them to be home.

I hear ya about the family.
I drove wreckers for years, made good money at it too.
Better than OTR.
