hey all, my husband and i both work for a trucking co. im in office doing dispatch and he's the driver. he currently has a cdl b w/ hazmat, but wants to upgrade to class a and buy his own rig and hit the road. can anyone give us any pointers on how to start up? i know alot of o/o around here do pier work and they say they get paid shit. now as a co driver he suppose to be "local" yet he drives anywhere from va to nh! so he knows the east coast pretty well. he wants to continue to do runs like that. can anyone point us in the right direction on where to begin.
thanks.

thanks. The first thing you need to do is to find a small company that runs in the lanes he wants to run in that pays in the 1.40-1.60 range at minimum. You may want to PM a member here that goes by SOLO. He may have an idea on companies on the east coast. Once you find out who you want to haul for than the next step is to look for the truck. Startup costs can vary but they can get very expensive. Good Luck.
