Well I only have a month before I start cdl school, Yay! but I am always still looking at the opportunities out there. My list keeps getting bigger and bigger. In my many searches out there I have recently found these 2 companies. However, haven't heard anything about them, and the search tool here isn't that helpful. So does anyone have any info on Boyd Bros, or Anderson Trucking Services?

Have you done any "searches" here on this site using the company names as the searchwords? You may well get some information that way. 8)

Boyd bros. are all flat. I highly recommend flatbed!

Some one finally replied to my e-mail i sent them, ya have to be 23.

I've started to notice a pattern though, any van jobs doesn't care about your age, and flatbed is either 22 or 23. Oh well, Keep on looking. 8)

The lack of negatives on the internet can in some ways be considered a positive....as in no news is good news.

"Skateboarding" is not really good for us "old farts"....now, I know I going get bashed by some old guy who's been doing it for ages.....but reality says that if you are old, heavy or just old and have lousy knees, back trouble and such, dancing around on a load humping tarps, etc...just isn't right if you are old.

There's a reason they want younger drivers..... 8)

Just a little update

Got a call from ATS ( Anderson trucking service - FLatbed)

Sounds like a pretty good deal, Majority of their freight is heavy hall, and OD loads. The nice bounus for me is they do hire 21 year olds Yay! All they have to do is approve my school, and I have 1 accident ( and a ticket from that accident ) that saftey has to approve also. Thats the only thing she said that could hold me back.

Training is 6 weeks long, 350 per week. no teaming, Your trainer is in the jump seat. They mostly run Volvo Tractors.

Out on the road about 14 to 21 days, 1 off for every week out. Not really strict though on how much time you take off, unless it's excessive of course.

For your first year you will do just general flatbed work, pay below

solo: .32cpm
6months .36cpm
1 Year .38cpm

Then 1cpm increase every year after that.

After your year if you do OD and or heavy hall in addition to the regualr 1cpm increase every year you get a 5cpm to 25cpm premium, depedning on the load, the 5cpm is garanteed.
