Default "Oops" Who's Fault ??

Just wondering . A little over a year ago I was driving through Wyoming an saw a lot of trucks blown over. Does the company consider that the drivers fault ? Stupid question maybe but was curious about that. Anyone been through that or know how that works? Thanks

It depends on the exact circumstances.

If high wind warnings had been issued and a driver chose to ignore them then it is probably going down as a preventable.

If you are parked and your truck gets blown over then most likely it will be non preventable.

I've heard some say that nailing a deer, or pig, or a jackalope...any animal is a preventable accident. My safety director tried to get me one time when I got me a pig. I told him that I want to speak to a DOT officer. He didnt have anything else to say about it. :lol:

Saw this a couple of years ago. I-30 westbound,about 20 miles west of Texarkana, and I stopped for a quick nap on the get on ramp behind a JB. Woke up to the wind really rocking the truck. Looked out and JB was on his side. Driver said he didn't wake up till he hit. He was empty and fortunately I wasn't, or I may have woke to the same problem. :shock:

Yeah it's a weird site seeing a truck on the shoulder lying on it's side . At that time there were a lot of cars and trucks blown of the road or over.
Like greg 3564 said parking the tractor into the wind sounds about right. Thanks ]
