Default What kind of Questions should a person ask

I have read a couple other post saying you should not ask recruiters about the money right of the bat. So I would like some experienced people out there to give me a list of some good question to ask a recruiter. I am looking going towards Swift. It has a termival not to far from my house that I should be able to be based out of.

You need to ask about anything and everything that is important to you.

Some things you can ask about:

Base pay and how is it calculated
loading and unloading pay
detention pay
break down and layover pay
pet policy
rider policy
type of equipment and average age of equipment
health insurance
life insurance
do they pay or reimburse for lumpers, scales, tolls, etc.
% of no touch freight
speed policy
do they provide 24/7 support/dispatch
401k or other type of retirement account

Never ever be afraid to ask a question and expect a straight forward answer.

Thanks for the questions u-turn. I have not had to look for a job in 14 years. You go kind of brain dead after that long. If you no what I mean. This will get me started.

If you are a brand new driver you really need to ask about the training program?

In addition another good question to ask at any level is How do I get home if for some reason I am unable to complete orientation/training/resign?

There are some other very important questions that you should make sure to ask as well:

1.) You all don't check DAC reprts, do you??

2.) That DWI that I got will be a year old in another eight months. That won't be a problem, will it??

3.) I know that I have to take a drug test.....I also know it's unconstitutional......Can you tell me if that stuff called "ReadyKleen" really works??

4.) I'll be done with probation in about 11 more months. Could you all promise me home time on the first Thurday of each month??

5.) Is it true that the cops can search your truck anytime they feel like it??

I know that there are a lot of drivers out there who have more experience than I do, so perhaps they might be able to add to this list.

One more question to ask is.....

Will my Felonies for drug trafficking, possession of a illegal narcotic and vehicular man slaughter keep me from being a trainer?
