Company Driver Cents Per Mile Spreadsheet
After reading about pay rates and starting
pay, I created a spreadsheet to illustrate the going rate or cent per mile for a company driver being paid by the mile. Now I know why the serious drivers " keep the left door shut"

Your spreadsheet tells only part of the story....we make 35 CPM + 2CPM safety. But last year I drove 144,000 miles and made 56K. That's 40CPM. And the difference is, we get paid for every drop, every pick up, and detention time. It makes a difference. Also we get paid off the odometer, and that makes a difference.

that is spreadsheet isl looks good for an estimated amount...
Like the other post, many drivers get paid extra for certain activities.

Great point Aligator.
That accessory pay, especially a good detention package, can add up in a hurry.

Alligator, My point: Staying behiond the wheel, which you obviousley do is going to add up. And I understand your point for sure. BTW you estimated your annual income a little low. 144,000 x .40 cpm = 57,600. The numbers are only to do a quick weekly estimate for new drivers. When starting out or over with a new company , negotiating 5 cents a mile more and driving really adds up. .05 more a week x 3000 miles = $150.00 150 x 4 = $ 600.00 monthly 150 x 52 = $7,800 annually |
