You can drive a pimped out late model Paccar that will do 85mpg if you don't mind having no bennies, getting .20cpm and seeing home on a monthly basis.

Avoid CRE like the plague or anyone who who pushes lease/purchase.

Look for companies that actually train new drivers rather than pimp them out as team drivers for $300-400/week and call it "training".

While they don't pay much Schneider does have good training.
Ian, is that website in your signature line yours? Very nice if it is. Any updates coming?

Dammit Ian, I want to buy a Paccar truck that will do 85 mpg. Even my fourwheeler doesn't get mileage half as good as that.

Action takes newbies...but ya gotta live pretty close to NE Mississippi; that because we go home every week end - and once during the week, too.

Paccar has licensed the "Mr. Fusion" tech from Dr. Emmet Brown and scaled it up from the Delorean. It the next step beyond hybrids.

If you drive 88 you actually arrive at your consignee BEFORE you loaded at the shipper. Just right E=MC2 on your log book and DOT will understand.

With a Diesel 5sp Jetta you can get 50mpg+ with a light touch on the freeway. I see 24-26 out of my Jeep KJ with the 2.8L diesel. 85mpg obtainable with a Honda Insight like car with a oil burner:

Greg

Actually the Nevada LTL site is done by a friend of mine who is a city driver for Yellow. He took the picture I use for my avatar, He's one of the mods over at Hanks truck pictures. He recently switched bids and does not have as much time to play around on the net as he used to.

If you enjoy Truck pics check out my photobucket:
