But YOU have to be willing to "learn" that trade, be willing to be influenced by "Winners", and not be influenced by "Winers" .

On the other hand, if you are influenced by the "Winers", you will eventually become disgusted with the entire proccess, and call it a game. No doubt, you have read in these threads numerous examples of how "tough" the trucking life can be. The thing to remember is, every job is what the "Individual" makes of it. I drove my first truck in 1973, while growing up on a ranch in Montana. I started driving truck professionally in 1979. While I have had "ups" and "downs", I can in all honesty tell you that I enjoy my "Job". I have made some pretty decent money over the years. I have also made some pretty bad money...in just the last couple years. Now..I can say, I am back to making decent money, even though I have the headaches associated with owning my own truck. (right now it is in the shop with ECM problems) If you choose to drive truck for a living...don't make it the "Choice of last resort". When this becomes a profession which you didn't really want to do, it becomes a job you really won't enjoy doing. Learn the trade, do it well...and you will eventually have some of that "Jack".
