Default New Driver Seeks Job Finding Help

I'm almost out of Truck School ... I've got my Class A Permit ... and I'm told that in about 2 weeks it'll be my turn to test.

So I've posted a resume on Monster.com ... but I'm surprised that I can't post one here on Class A Driver.com. Is there a link somewhere that I'm missing?

Where else would someone fresh out of truck school post a resume or begin looking for a new job?

I posted my application when I first got an account to this site ... but the website doesn't seem to store a permanent application ... I guess I'm supposed to go through that long process again? No way to simply "Update" the information??

To be honest with you, monster or career builder type sites are'nt going to do you much good, especially being fresh out of school. I don't know what your expectations are as far as work, local, regional, otr? If you log on to www.ajb.org, you might find a little more luck, i was looking at relocating to tennessee and posted a resume on there, i did get a call from RYDER, but i also have 4 years experience, but i'm just saying that out of the couple sites that i posted on, they were the ones that called back. But as far as this site, everytruckjob.com, and a few others, if you post your resume on there you should have quite a bit of newbie companies calling you wanting you to come work for them, but again it all depends on what you're looking for, if you're trying to find local, all i can say is good luck.

Or even with 10 years of experience. What was that song by Kansas again? "Pissing in the Wind" I think it was.

This site does store your application. Go to application and look at the very top of the screen and you will see "Login". If you failed or forgot your application Login info just enter in something and it will redirect you to a page where you can enter in your SSI number and last name and your login will be mailed to your email address.

Have you tried Tyson's private fleet? Give Victor a call at 1-800-933-6442 and he can give you lots of information. Tell him Eagle Eye told you to call. I am getting ready to go out with a Tyson trainer next week. Good luck!

Actually "millersod" was close 8) but the actual "portal link" to search would be: http://www.ajb.dni.us/ This site has links to the different states listings.

On sending your application now. I wouldn't really. If you don't have a CDL-A in hand...then there is little reason for an employer to talk to you. They are neck deep in a swamp surrounded by hungry alligators and trying to figure out how to drain the swamp....and busy reviewing the applications of current CDL holders.....to replace the drivers someone PO'd and who left the company.

That will change the minute that you have your CDL-A in hand. At that very second...you become an "entity and a commodity they are looking for". Patience is a virtue....just be patient on the job search til you have the CDL.

You will not have a problem getting employment 8) ....unless you have "skeletons" in the closet. But, presuming you do not....all is good. Concentrate on getting your CDL, and the rest will happen quickly enough.

Great advice but... I applied online here and had 2 phone calls that week and I was 2 weeks away from getting my CDL. He should be applying everywhere he wants to work before he gets his CDL so there isn't much of a lapse of time between school and OJT. It's been almost 3 weeks since I got my CDL (and drove a truck). Somethings aren't as fresh in my mind as they were then. The only reason it's been so long is I decided to apply for the present company the day I took my test.

I've heard good things about Averitt and they hire student drivers. Link: https://averitt.hrapply.com/cgi-bin/...ty=50&state=AL
