Your scanner will have to be able to access the frequencies used on the citizen bands.
If you have a fully programable scanner and it is capable of recieiving signals between 26.965 MHz and 27.405 MHz then enter in the various freqs. You can find them at http://www.csgnetwork.com/cbradiofreq.html

Keep in mind, that the average cb radio only puts out 4 watts of power or so which means a very limited range, especially compared to police, fire, ambulance radios so you would need to be close to the source of the transmissions to hear it.

I thought that I would check my owner's manual, not that I want to hear any more CB than I do on the job. I do live about one block from an Interstate.
The 10 band Uniden that I purchased in 2001 will program above 29.0000 MHz. Not low enough for CB.
