I got a ticket in Oregon for not having a proper tax permit. I have recently gotten a local job and don't plan on going back to OTR or really even leaving the SE. Since this ticket is for a non moving violation, can OR mess with my CDL or can I just thumb my nose at them? Thanks in advance and I hope you all stay safe out there.

It depends on Oregon statutes and also what kind of reciporacle agreement they have with Alabama.
The most likely thing would be OR would revoke your privledge to drive in that state. Alabama could potentially revoke your DL depending on that offense is looked upon in that state and if they choose accept a ticket from another state. While you do not plan on ever going to OR again it would still be best to pay the fine. If you can not pay it all at once call the state and set up a payment schedule. After all you can have no way of knowing where tomorrow will take you.

Same thing happened to my husband just a couple months ago (in Oregon)- he took took care of it right away, and b/c of that, they dropped it. They told him most drivers do not follow through, so they still have to pay the fine.

You might want to check with your state as well. Here in Texas, if your suspended in another state, you don't get to renew your CDL, and you could be suspended as well.
Not a good thing.

I would just request a copy of your Oregon driving record and take it from there. I have learned don't let your past hunt down.
