Default Just Passed my CDL and going on the Road for USA Trucks

I just passed my cdl and it was easier than I thought. I know that I still have so much to learn that was not covered at my School. Im curious about ways to cut food costs and avoid fast food as much as possible...Im open for any suggestions...And would like information on USA Trucks driver training if anyone has been there and done that..

You can cut food cost by stocking up on canned goods, fruits, sandwich meat, etc at Wal-marts. You may or may not be able to do this during your first few weeks while on the road with your trainer. The inside of a truck is a very small space for 2 people and their belongings. Discuss this early on with your trainer. Hopefully, there will be room or maybe he will be nice and treat you to some "free-meals".

I am on my 1st home time after starting with USA Truck. So far the experience has been pretty good. I got around the personality differences between my trainer and I and let him train me to drive. He actually spent time up in the passenger seat and taught (which is something that apparently does not happen for all trainees). I have been out on my own for the past month and have taken my time to make sure that I understand where I am going, planning out my trip and my stops to the best of my ability. I am careful to watch the road signs to avoid getting off my route (so far, so good). As far as the company goes, everything so far has been what I expected and I have no complaints.
