Default How long have you been with you're company?

hey all, Just curious (probably another post somewhere that someone already asked but thought I would ask again) for the "hay" of it.

How long have you been at you're current Trucking company. as in days, months, years.

Plus how do you like it? (and no need to say my company is better than everyone) lol. don't want to drift off with that subject. Just curious I'll start. =)

Well first of all not a truck driver. But I did go to training school for one month, it was fun. always wanted to become a truck driver. Not to become rich or anything.just for the fun of it. <-- It's true it's in my blood Lol. per say, been wanting to do it sense 5 years of age. 19 at the moment. so only 2 more years I hope. Maybe go with my dream company of Us-Xpress. but we will see on that. anyways back to the question lol.

I work for UPS been there sense October 23rd of 06. loving it so far, just a Load liner (person loading the package cars) it's fun. 3am status! got to love the morning hours lol.

I don't drive truck either (does a pickup count?lol), would love to someday though; I get lost too easy and am more of a 'fair weather driver'-( safer for everyone that way!). My other half will have been w/ Swift for 2 yrs come August- and then maybe off to bigger/better things. They are trying to get him to be either a mentor or do great lakes regional- neither of which he wants to do! If I didn't have all these hayburners though, I think trucking would be my next move.(team-up w/him so he can drive in all the hard places and back-up to the docks for me- HA ha!!)

Small 2nd. generation family Truck Company out of Traverse City, Michigan. Mostly reefer, but do van and flats on occation. Flat loads of steel or double flats of fruit during harvest time. We haul for Sara Lee and various Fruit Processors and Cold Storages. Coast to Coast and Canada. Backloads of whatever we can get. We run solo 2-3 weeks out. I'm back on full-time right now after a 4-month leave. I'm in my 3rd year with this Company. 6th year of Trucking.

I'm longing now for a change.
I'd like to do more flats of steel, between U.P. and Detroit, so I can be home every weekend.

Want to go Team with Wot over in Scotland. That will happen this year I hope. My next 6 months are going to be right where I'm at...unless something better falls in my lap.

I've been with this company for 4 years. Do I like it? Yeah, I reckon. Good job, good benefits. I just mainly pull doubles every night. I run out to Lubbock, and back 5 nights a week.

The question, "How long have you been with you are company?" makes absolutely no sense to me.

Since this past Sept.11. This job has taught me that yes, i can survive on a few hours sleep here and there and then catch a few later.

Am i happy about this? No. But i've learned that our bodies can adapt physically to erratic sleep patterns. It's mostly the mind that is adversly affected. Alot of that being pyschological.

As you probably know, i am getting ready to jump ship. And i will release all the juicy/dirty details when the time is right.

2) How do i like it?
Well, apart from the lack of sleep part, it's not all that bad actually; 99.9% drop and hook and everythings basically pre-loaded so generally no waiting. Trucks are ok; Leased penske units.

My only other complaint is that i'm not getting enough work; I've only cracked over 40 hours one week. And if it's long distance then i've only gotten one week on 3000 miles.

Like i said, i will release all the juicy details when the time is right.

And how long you sleep or don't sleep has to do with how long you've been with your company is????

Sweet! driving doubles awesome. I have seen some of the guys/woman driving them. That's got to be a little nerve racking though driving in the city? (I could just try to picture myself doing that lol) Ahhh.
