Default CFI

Alot of people do say CFI is a good company maybe i will keep that in mind. I know not to expect alot at first yet i have a family to think about as well i am use to working out of state for weeks at a time so that is not the problem. I know how to eat dollar menu items and things that save money. I just want a company that will give me miles and bring home enough to make a living i am hoping for 500 to 600 a week to start and i am ready to work hard for it. I know I want to be an O/O within 3 years but until then i will have to get experience under my belt. Thanks a lot for all your help guys really does make a differance on my decisions I will make. BTW what is average take home for a rookie?

Check into Schneider as well.
I dont know anything about CFI but one thing to remember is that all trucking companies.........lie.
Seems to be the universal feeling no matter who you go with, from either bad dispatchers, poor support etc....its universal.

Default Watkins Shepard

Check out Watkins Shepard. If you live close to a terminal it is a great company.

A big plus ... 10 day orientation rather than riding 4 - 8 weeks with a trainer. I drove for them for 9 months and felt they were a very good company.

I would check into May, they start grads at .32 per mile. They have a 4 to 5 week training period at 500.00 a week. Great starter company for newbees

If you want to flatbed I would suggest checking into Modular Transportation, they are out of Grand Rapids, we haul mostly steel in the Great Lakes states, I am home every weekend, I was home twice this week, I am a rookie just graduating in Jan.They are a smaller comp. w/ just about 85 power units wanting to expand to 93. They have lots of dedicated runs based on where you live(Iam the southern most driver, I live just outside of Indy)I quit TMC to go with this company. You can PM me with questions if you like, I will try to answer them or I can put you in contact with someone who can.

$605!!!!

Were you doing warp 8?

When I got a speedo when I lived in CA is was ~$90 for 10 over.

If you are not afraid to work and can tolerate erratic income for awhile LTL can be good.

Are you tied to the area by family? From what I've been reading lately MI is tough labor market to be in right now with all steady loss of auto jobs.
