Jeepers............(I watched to much Leave it to Beaver as a kid).......maybe y'all should come down here to buy yer trucks.
I was looking around this morning at used ones and a lot of dealers have used rigs for os little as $800 per month, good, bad and crappy credit bargains.

After reading everyone's opinioins here and talking to my Cuz,
I've narrowed my job search down to 3 companies, and pulling around dry vans.
After 2-5 tears as a company driver,if I just gotta go out and go into debt by purchasing my own rig, then I'll do it then and on my own.

A 379 flat top looks good in front of a cow trailer, too. :P

If you decide that you want a bigger radio, you can always buy something bigger. You can spend $300 or more on a radio, but it isn't necessary and for the most part is a waste of money. Most of those radios need a license, anyway. The Cobra 29 is probably the most popular with most drivers. The Cobra is a good basic radio which will do the same thing for less money.
I agree. I have a Cobra 29. It's an older one with some extras that I had put in it, but I've never had any trouble with it. It all depends on how much you want to spend, and whether you want the plain jane, or lots of goodies. The more options you want in a radio, the higher they are.

Thats probably invoice/MSRP. My dad's new truck has an MSRP of $180,000 , but you paid no where NEAR that price

I agree with Jeepers on trucks being cheaper in Texas. We winter in El Paso, and are from oregon where we return in the summer. Just too freakin hot here in the summer. What took us there was we got a 1 ton truck off ebay in san antonio for $10,000 less then we could ever get one in Oregon. Trucks are way expensive in the Northwest. Of course, everything is cheaper in Texas then the northwest.... :?

I had a guy buy my full size Jimmy in Chicago and flew up from TX to buy it because it was $1000's cheaper than he could find it in The Lonestar State

This wasn't a semi though, so this really doesn't have much to do with the price of tea (in China)

I would say mid-roof.

Most condo's aren't planned out properly (why have we not gone to overcab bed's yet?) and thus are mostly wasted space. Not to mention noisier and will take longer to heat and cool.

2)As far as lease-purchase deals, i don't like the smell of them. Why not just buy your own truck and pick which companies you want lease yourself out to? If you don't have good credit, keep working as a company hand until you do.

The longer I'm on the road, the bigger the sleeper I'd want.

The only stupid question is the one not asked
