I dropped off their truck Monday night.

I was supposed to deadhead to Cleveland, run containers to Detroit, possibly deadhead to Chicago, then run to Louisville, then deadhead to the terminal.

But the truck didn't have chains. No mesh tarps either.

So I was told to get chains at a truckstop. Couldn't find any (load chains, not tire chains).

I tried to call back, but noone was in at the terminal.

I have the opprotunity to go to either JB, or TransAm.

There were a few reasons I quit. One was their total disregard for HOS regulations. Another was their lack of respect.

I figured how many miles I could have run with them for the week.
I came up with 1300. That's just over $2k revenue. My check would be for $400 gross. No thanks.

Forging logbooks shouldn't be allowed. If they expect you to do it, they should state that in the interview process.

Now I have a choice of JB, or Transam.
JB preaces better hometime and more pay, but Transam seems more reputable.

Since you have some knowledge of reefers and how that freight works, would it not be good to investigate TransAm alittle closer.

Personally, I know little about them....but have seen their trucks all over the place.

I have. I think. I have a friend that pulls for them. I have read all the posts here, at layover, and truckers.net. Can't really find much negative.

TransAm has done us right every step along the way. Like every company though it does depend some on your fleet manager and terminal. The hometime isn't bad for the industry..and seems to be much more reliable once you can get it set than others talk about. BOL whatever your choice, hope you can find something that will work a long while for you.

400 a week and have to fudge the books..... That is bad yeah I would definitly quit that job.

I have never heard negatives on TransAm, but my nephew went to JB a year ago for all of 1 month after I warned him of their reputation. He was offered .42/mi but in reality they suckered him into perdiem pay which if injured would have cut his workers comp pay by .11 mi. The thing that really hurt was how they work QualComm. They over lap your log books on top of where the satellite says you were and nail you for every detail. I am not saying he wanted to run out law. But when he is told to be at a customer by 4 am, sits there 6 hours then is expected to go to another to p/u but ooops, out of hours when the 14th hours clicks by. He said his 70 hours was burned through too quickly and he cleared $1200 after being out 30 days. They have more bad things said than good, but it still is down to individual experiences.
