the warning for following too close is probably what did it, even if you beat the ticket, the company doesnt want to take a chance on you anymore, the insurance companies are really hard on this kind of ticket, our insurance company will no longer cover any driver who gets a tailgating ticket, the boss has no say about it.

Sorry to hear about your employment  Was there traffic right behind you as well? If so it sounds like you were going with the flow of traffic.

Best Wishes to you!

I had the same problem when I was leased to C.R. England (no side comments please). I picked up a load in Southern California that was a "rush, rush" load. It was light and I was going faster than I should have been going down the Grapevine. The speed limit dropped as I was passing another driver and low and behold there was a state trooper. I got my ticket pretty quick and was on my way. The next day, I had a load going home so I was in a hurry to enjoy my time at home after my ordeal. I was in Oregon going through Jordan Valley up and down the hills and as I crested one hill, I saw a trooper and went to slow down. As he passed me I saw him in my mirror and he turned around and pulled me over. I fought the ticket in Oregon with a transportation type attorney and had to attend a defensive driving course and pay a fine. I paid the fine in California. I didn't lose my job but I cost an awful lot out of my pocket. Some companies will not hire you if you have to many tickets in a certain amount of time. Be honest with your company and keep an eye out until the drop off you license.
