Default Those JB Hunt recruiters

Yup again and again we see truck drivers seeking employment, taking a greyhound or driving their car to orientation. And come to find out the information that was passed between the Driver and the recruiter was not all in the file, and Drivers are turned down, just to go back home again. What have you seen at theses orientations?

You need to be more specific with your gripe so I can properly rebute it.

From what I see is that you were kicked out of orientation and somehow thats the recruiters fault. Ive been recruiting over here for a long time, I have had hundreds and hundreds of drivers kicked out of orientation for one reason or another, I cant think of one time it would have been my fault. So lets hear more of this story. Im fair and balanced, if by chance it was the recruiters fault you were kicked out, I will agree with you.

No Problem, I told the recruiter that I had a misdeamenor on my record(3yrs old), I even told him the details about the situation. But when I got to orientation, they said that my app. was denied due to that misdeamenor. And when I asked why couldnt you deny me over the phone or whatever, they said that the misdeamenor was not found out until they ran my DAC.
The other guy that got sent home told his recruiter he had a bad back and had problems lifting stuff, recruiter replies no problem you wont be required to lift anything as a jb hunt driver, Come On Down. So the guy got disqualified for having a bad back.
And yes sorry for targeting u recruiters out there, but I just wanted to hear some of the other stories drivers had to go threw to get a job and end up getting the shaft.

I just went trough orientation with Crete. We had one person get asked to step outside and was never seen again. He was a very large person so we all figured it had to do with his physical condition.

It happens at all trucking companies not just J.B. Hunt. Get a signed released faxed to them and ask them to run your reports before you leave for orientation.

I understand that no one wants to hire a unhealthy driver due to saftey reasons. But at jb hunt they had us do some lifting weights and stuff that had allot of back muscles involved. So for the recruiter to say no problem to the guy after he told him he has a bad back is messed up. But if the recruiters have no idea what goes on in oreintation, thats a company problem. My buddy told me to go to crete, ima give them a call in the morning

Some of the blame does go to recruiters, but drivers have to do their own homework on companies and also use there common sense. There are also a lot of drivers that think that they can get away with hiding things. There are no secrets in the trucking world. The reports they run will reveal the truth. If you have a bad back or other physical ailment you have to get a doctors release. It does not matter if there is no touch freight the day to day driving of a truck and it's associated requirements are rough on ones bodies.
