So long CR England, Hello JB Hunt?
#11
I worked OTR for JB Hunt back in late 2002 to 2003 based from Nashville. It was my first OTR job and I had a good experience overall in spite of being fired. I had 3 lane change complaints and 2 toll booth speeding incidents within about 2 months. That being said, I was still offered to keep my job (by the COO Steve Harper) if I went with a trainer for a few weeks.
Freight was always pretty good. I was never concerned about sitting for a few hours unless I wanted to get home. I always attributed sitting when heading home as being part of finding the right load to head the right direction. I sat once in Columbus from Fri noon until Monday morning because my Qualcomm would not receive. Whenever I called weekend dispatch, they failed to tell me if they knew about it. I helped unload a couple loads. Never fully unloaded a trailer. I never had to run all night to get somewhere. I always had plenty of time to get to a delivery except for maybe a couple loads. I just got there as soon as I could letting dispatch know my eta. I used the per diem option when it was offered and took home more making $.025 cpm less. I never asked about dedicated, but I'm sure there were some good ones in the Nashville area. I didn't really have a home there (it's complicated; don't ask), so I was out working 29 out of 31 days. Weekend dispatch was horrible. Like that's news. :P Any specific questions?

Make double and triple sure that JB Hunt knows you have that run!! When I drove for them, I hired on specifically for a dedicated run, and low and behold, it was gone by the time I got out of orientation

If you want to have a more rewarding driving experience in terms of hometime and earnings look into LTL, Tankers and Flatbedding.

Nice one homer. You're a real class act. Same arrogant, snotty attitude you have always shown, Spencerain!!! Talk about a Class Act??? Was Homer the one who suggested that you go to work for CR England?? Was Homer the one who signed you onto CRE's Fleece Program when everyone here tried to tell you not too???? Is Homer somehow to blame for your troubles???? Is it Homer's fault that you are just too weak to admit that you were wrong?? |
