Hi. I was recently working as a 2nd seat with a lease operator. I was supposed to get .13 a mile. We completed a run together and I decided to go solo for another company. The day I was expecting payment nothing came so I called the company we were both with and they said she was supposed to pay me from what they paid her. I called her and told her she is supposed to payme directly and she said she had a bad week financially so I let it slide and told her I'd call her the next week. It has now been over a month and she does not return my calls or my messages. I called the old company and they said there is nothing they can do about it. All they would do is send her a Qualcomm message to call me, which she still hasn't. I'm so surprised because we were friends and I helped her out so much with the driving and actually did most of the miles since it was her first run out as a leaser and she was quite nervous. Is there anything I could do? I'm considering legal action but don't even know how to go about starting that. Any suggestions?
How much does she owe you for one run? It isn't worth what you'd pay for a lawyer. Cancel the friendship and move on....
Call your state's Workforce Commission; you can file a complaint with them without having to retain a lawyer.
How much could she possibly owe you from one run at 13 cents a mile? Cut your "friendship" and your losses and move on.
chalk it up to the cost of edumaction!
