TDI is out of Sanford right, they're a Florida based trucking school I think. Kinda like a Roadmaster, fancy commercials, but no real hands on training.

You mean these guys?

There are more than just TDI that does 3-week courses. The only thing these courses do is get you a CDL --- thats it. The real training, unfortunately, happens when you get with the training driver at the company that you go to.

I got my training through TDI at their Mulberry, Arkansas (now moved to West Memphis) school and I thought all the instructors were EXCELLENT! They were very hands-on and went out of their way to make sure we knew what we were doing and were very patient. They didn't let us go to the next phase of instruction until they thought WE were ready. 8)

You need to learn how to shift your keyboard, too, but I don't see you bitching about your typing teacher.

Most of the schools I checked into offered 3 week programs; if you will buckle down, listen, pay attention, and learn, you will learn enough to get your CDL. I did, as did all but a couple of idiots in my class.

No, it isn't enough time to become a proficient driver; that's why companies place you with a trainer.

If you brought the same attitude to the school, or to the examiner's office as the one that you brought here, then it's no wonder you didn't pass!!

Go flip burgers a McDonalds; there are already too many drivers on the highways with your attitude, and it gives all of us a bad name!!

Amen to that! The secret to truck school is to put everything out of your mind and stay focused and STUDY. Don't be afraid to ask questions. If you think you need some extra practice on anything your instructors will gladly help you. All it takes is a willingness to learn and to keep your mind on what you're doing. 8)
