Just think how much more informed you will be than the majority of your class. You might tell them about this site, so they will be informed. I preach the gospel of CAD.

I went home first. I drove to DM, so they had to send me back. To tell the truth I wouldn't have cared if they sent me out with my trainer from DM. I was and still am prepared to stay out the entire six weeks. Remember, once you finish with your trainer you will have to go back to one of the terminals to be road tested, finish the paperwork and be assigned to your own truck. I don't have a wife or kids, so I really didn't care one way or the other.

Terry, what do you mean "one of the terminals?"
How many are there?
I thought TMC only had the one . . . in Des Moines?

Des Moines, IA
Joplin, MO
Indianapolis, IN
Columbia, SC
Laredo, TX
DM is the mothership, Laredo nothing more than a drop yard. Next month Laredo will move to its new facilities. It will have maintenance and fueling facilities on 20 acres. I think everyone goes to DM for paperwork and road testing, then they could be sent to another terminal to pick up their assigned truck. They could be sent anywhere in the USA to pick up an abandoned truck.

I believe (and I could be wrong) that people who attend orientation in Columbia SC are destined to return there for their final testing. I obtained that information from a new release who was sent in a rental car from Columbia to Des Moines to pick up a truck. In a related story other new releases were sent from Des Moines to Indianapolis to pick up trucks on that same day. Efficiency at work.
I am here in Des Moines, seeking one of those trucks.

Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

When you pick up a truck you need to look things over carefully and note any damage. If not, you could be held accountable. That isn't just TMC but any company.
